Introduction
“The sun rises from the mountains where rivers run.
The sun and the moon shine above people and the world we live in.
The world is so beautiful but so fleeting; only the mountains and rivers are
everlasting.”
Such are the beauty, the truth and the serenity of the spectacular view.
Peng Fei, China’s rising star in conducting, is in Taiwan with Duan Aiai and
Qian Jun, the principal erhu and Chinese flute players, respectively, of
Shanghai Chinese Orchestra. Their performance will be accompanied by
the Taipei Chinese Orchestra. Together they will present a banquet for the
soul through the potrayal of beautiful scenery of mountains and rivers.
