Zhongshan Hall is open to visitors from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day, except for one fixed date per month when it is closed for maintenance. The number of visitors will be regulated on days with scheduled performances.
Applications for guided tours will be accepted from groups with over ten visitors. Please make an appointment in advance by calling (02) 2381-3137 ext. 105.
The Zhongshan Hall performance program can be obtained at the tourist information desk or service counter at Taipei Main Station, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Taipei Cultural Center, the National Theater and Concert Hall, Novel Hall, any district office of the Taipei City Government, or the following locations in the Taipei Rapid Transit System: Ximen Station, Zhongxiao Fuxing Station, Beitou Station.
Both Zhongzheng Auditorium and Guangfu Auditorium are venues for performing arts.
Specific deadlines for submission of applications for Zhongzheng Auditorium are specified on a regular basis and publicly announced. Applications for use of Guangfu Auditorium and the Zhongshan Hall Plaza should be submitted one month prior to the date of use.
After the reopening of Zhongshan Hall in January 2002, some changes have been made to the application procedure for rental of the performance venues. To apply for use of Zhongzheng Auditorium, it is necessary to submit a program proposal to be assessed by the program assessment committee. The performance dates will be determined according to the score of the assessment. Once the dates are decided, the artist or performing group needs to sign a contract with Zhongshan Hall in order to complete the rental process.
Online applications will not be accepted, as it is necessary to submit a “program proposal” and “audio portfolio” to be assessed by the program assessment committee. After the performance dates are determined, a contract needs to be signed by the applicants. An application form can be downloaded from the Zhongshan Hall website, but online applications will not accepted.
Guangfu Auditorium is usually used for cultural and artistic performances as well as academic activities, but can also be used for gatherings and meetings to promote performing arts. Performing artists who apply to use Guangfu Auditorium for the purpose of “arts performances” can enjoy a 60% discount on the rental fee.
Applicants need to fill out an application form, an event proposal form (including venue layout plan and event schedule), submit a copy of their government registration permit or business license, and a cleanliness maintenance plan.
The hours of operation for each venue are as follows:
Zhongzheng Auditorium:
9:00 to 12:00; 13:00 to 17:00; 18:00 to 22:00
Guangfu Auditorium:
9:00 to 12:00; 13:00 to 17:00; 18:00 to 22:00
Zhongshan Hall Plaza:
8:30 to 12:00; 14:00 to 17:30; 18:00 to 21:30
Tickets for performances at Zhongshan Hall can be bought at Zhongshan Hall ticket office at the front entrance. ERA Ticket and ArtsTicket online systems are available.
The ticket office is open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. every day.
According to Article 6 of “Management Regulations of Taipei Zhongshan Hall,” Zhongzheng Auditorium may not be used for formal events, ceremonies, commercial film screenings, or any meetings or lectures that are not related to performing arts.
How should banquet events held at Guangfu Auditorium arrange food and refreshments?
Zhongshan Hall currently has no kitchen facilities; therefore, it is unable to provide any food or refreshments. It also prohibits renting parties from setting up their own kitchen or cooking facilities, but allows ready-made food to be brought into the auditorium, as long as cleanliness of the auditorium is well maintained.
